PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain titanium-coated steel, from which a covering material does not peel due to a secular deterioration by welding the periphery of a titanium sheet metal and an insert material consisting of pure nickel, pure iron or low carbon steel, joining by welding the insert material to a base steel sheet, and covering the periphery of the joined part with a nonconductive sealing material. SOLUTION: Insert material 2 provided projectingly from titanium sheet metal 3 and the titanium sheet metal 3 are joined at a welding part 7 of the titanium sheet metal and the insert material. It is preferable that the thickness of the insert material and the titanium sheet metal 3 is 0.2 to 2 mm. It is preferable to apply laser welding or seam welding. An adhesive material 4 is applied on the rear of the titanium sheet metal 3. After placing the insert material 2 and the titanium sheet metal 3 upon a base steel sheet 1, they are formed so that they conform to the shape of the base steel sheet 1. The insert material 2 is joined at the welding part 6 of the base steel sheet and the insert material. The surface of the base steel sheet 1 close to the welding part 6 is covered by a sealing material 8 from the edge part of the titanium sheet metal 3. |
