<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a feeling to hit a ball accurately and to make directivity stable by providing a peripheral thick portion and a ball-hit part thick portion corresponding to a sweet spot on the back side and by forming a groove-like thin part along the peripheral shape of a face part on the toe side, top side and heel side between the thick portions. SOLUTION: The whole of a head of an iron club is integrally forged, and a hosel 3 to which a face part 2 and a shaft are to be fitted. The head 1 is formed so that thickness is increased from a top side 1a toward a sole side 1b, and a groove (thin part) 5 is formed along the peripheral shape of a toe side 1c, the top side 1a and the heel side 1d on a back part 4 opposite to the face part. By forming the groove 5, a central thick part (ball-hitting thick part) 7 and a peripheral thick part 9 are formed on its inside and the outside. And the central thick part 7 formed by the groove 5 is made the same as a sweet area 'S' or so as to cover the whole sweet area.</p> |
