PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect air bubbles in fluid flowing through a tube. SOLUTION: A tube 2 connected to a container is mounted on a recessed groove 7 formed on the main body case 3 of a transfusion pump and a plurality of fingers 9A-9G arranged on the recessed groove 7 compress the tube 2 mounted on the recessed groove 7 so as to transport fluid. An air bubble detector 21 mounted on the main body case 3 is provided with a detection case 22 having the recessed groove 22a for mounting the tube 2 and the detection case 22 is provided with one transmission element 24 and two reception elements 25A and 25B oppositely arranged across the recessed groove 22a. Ultrasonic waves transmitted from the transmission element 24 across the tube 2 are received by the respective reception elements 25A and 25B through the fluid in the tube 2. When air bubbles are included in the fluid, transmission of the ultrasonic waves to the respective reception elements 25A and 25B is interrupted by the air bubbles, and by combining the difference of reception levels obtained in the respective reception elements 25A and 25B, the air bubbles are detected. |
