PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a rapid printing process to be performed by reducing the height of accumulated ink images printed on a final receiving medium. SOLUTION: A printing head forms an ink image on a final receiving medium 11 and a first nip 32 ejects an ink droplet to an intermediate transfer face to form the ink image on the intermediate transfer face. The first nip 32 applies a first pressure to the final receiving medium 11 to transfer the ink image to the receiving medium 11. A second nip 39 applies a second pressure to the final receiving medium 11 to fuse the ink image into the final receiving medium 11.
