PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for forming an oblique fore edge at the open end of an article such as a memo pad or the like made of a sheet- like stock with a pinching jig having a very simple structure. SOLUTION: In order to manufacture this article having an oblique fore edge, bundles 3 and 13 are formed by piling up a plurality of sheet-like stocks. The upper end edges of the bundles 3 and 13 of a plurality of the sheet-like stocks are finishing-cut. After that, the top surface of their upper end edges is covered by a film 23. The resultant bundle together with the film 23 is inserted in a housing groove 2 tilted by a predetermined angle (θ) of a pinching tool 20 and temporarily pinchedly fixed. Then, by bending the film 23, the bundles 3 and 13 of a plurality of the sheet-like stocks are bent until the bundles 3 and 13 come into contact with the top surface 20a of the pinching tool 20 so as to cut the lower end edge of the bent bundles 3 and 13 of a plurality of the sheet-like stocks at a predetermined angular direction together with the film 23. Thus, by releasing the bent state of the bundles 3 and 13 of the cut sheet-like stocks, their lower end edges (or open edge) turn into a slope having a predetermined angle, resulting in forming an oblique fore edge at the slope.
