PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient sorption and removal of basic gaseous impurities contained in an air to be treated with the help of an adsorbent by fixing the adsorbent obtained by applying an inorganic acid salt to an inorganic powder comprising diatomaceous earth or the like to the surface of a support using an inorganic powder as a binder to form an inorganic material layer. SOLUTION: A filter 1 is formed of a honeycomb structure 12 consisting of plural outer frames 15a-15d assembled so that the frames are opened in the circulating direction of an air to be treated and corrugated sheets 10 and plain sheets 11 laminated alternately inside the assembled outer frames 15a-15d. The honeycomb structure 12 is arranged in parallel with the circulating direction of the air and an adsorbent obtained by applying an inorganic acid salt to the power of an inorganic matter composed of at least one kinds selected from diatomaceous earth, silica, alumina, a porous glass and the like, is fixed to the entire surface of the honeycomb structure 12 through a pulverized inorganic matter as a binder to form an inorganic material layer. Thus, it is possible to adsorb basic gaseous impurities as contained components with the help of the adsorbent and remove the impurities while the air to be treated passes through the inorganic material layer.
