PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a belt tension independently of the drawing amount of the belt and eliminate a sense of oppression due to belt when mounted. SOLUTION: A winding force reducer for a seat belt retractor includes a braked member 5 fixed to a spool 3, a braking means 6 for the braked member 5 and an operating means 7 for linking the braking means 6 to the braked member 5 during mounting a belt. The braking means 6 is formed with a rotary damper and a one-way engaging means C to be released when the spool 3 is rotated in a belt drawing direction is provided between the damper 6 and the braked member 5. The operating means 7 includes a supporting means 7a for supporting the rotary damper to be movable with respect to a frame and a driving means 7b for rotating the supporting means with the mounting of the belt 2 to engage the one-way engaging means. |
