PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the distortion and color dislocation of the image of a thermal development photographic photosensitive material by arranging the dimensional change with the passage of time of a polyester support after heating corresponding to thermal development, in both the machine direction and the transverse direction, within a specified range. SOLUTION: In this low thermal shrinkage polyester support, the dimensional change with the passage of time after being heated corresponding to the thermal development, in both the machine direction(MD) and the transverse direction(TD), is arranged within -0.03-0.05%. The dimensional change with the passage of time after heating corresponding to thermal development means the ratio between the dimensional measured after a process in which a specimen is heated at 115 deg.C for 30 sec and allowed to stand for 5 hr and the difference between the above dimension and the dimension measured after a process in which the specimen is further allowed to stand at 55 deg.C for 72 hr in order to give a change forcibly corresponding to treatment in which the specimen is allowed to stand at 25 deg.C for at least three years. Moreover, when the dimensional change with the passage of time after heating corresponding to the thermal development is measured over the transverse direction of the support, the absolute value of the difference between the maximum and time minimum, in both MD and TD, is preferably 0-0.04%. |
