PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a bacterial pollution problem after packaging by sterilizing packed food. SOLUTION: This sterilizing apparatus comprises an ozone generating means 15, a sterilizing chamber 3 for housing a pack P in a sterilizing box 1 and feeding ozone, a humidifier 8 for humidifying the sterilizing chamber, a dehumidifier 9 for dehumidifying the sterilizing chamber before carrying the pack P after sterilization, a negative pressure means 14 for keeping the sterilizing chamber under negative pressure and a discharge means 11 equipped with a filter 13 for discharging ozone as harmless material. Contact of food with ozone is increased and sterilization effect is heightened by humidifying the sterilizing chamber and keeping the interior of the chamber under negative pressure. Further, leak out of ozone to the outside of the sterilizing box is prevented by keeping the sterilizing chamber under negative pressure.
