PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel boring car and a construction method of a tunnel wherein the excavation direction of the tunnel can be controlled easily and precisely and the natural ground of a tunnel wall surface after the excavation of the tunnel can be treated safely and easily. SOLUTION: The tunnel boring car 1 is propelled by pressing the front portion of a segment 21 having been constructed by means of a jack 15, while the segment 21 is being pressed by press wheels 13, so that the car 1 travels, while a cutting face 19 is being excavated by means of a cutter disk 9 rotated by a motor 11. The posture of the car 1 can be controlled by individually adjusting the pressing forces against the segment 21 of the wheels 13 provided around a car body 3. And the wheels 13 holds the car 1 on the wall surface of a tunnel to prevent the car 1 from moving vertically and horizontally. |
