PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce density irregularities due to variations of the volume of a discharged ink from an ink discharge aperture in the end part region of each of head units and thereby upgrade the quality of an image. SOLUTION: Each of dither matrix circuits 24, 25 supplies its appropriate threshold value signal to a selector 26 upon a dither matrix position signal from a dither matrix position signal generation part 23. When appropriate pixels for an input image signal correspond to two ink discharge apertures at the end part of each of head units intended for correction, the selector 26 selects the threshold value signal from the end part dither matrix circuit 25 which is set in the end part region upon a dither matrix selection signal from a dither matrix selection signal generation part 22. Therefore, a comparator 21 compares the input image signal with the threshold value signal from the end part dither matrix circuit 24, 25 to make the results N-valued. |
