PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet head forming a good image by interposing an insulating short circuit preventive film at least between an upper electrode and a piezoelectric film or between a lower electrode and the piezoelectric film thereby making uniform the ink ejection performance constantly. SOLUTION: The thickness of a short circuit preventive film 6 is preferably set in the range of 0.2-1.0μm when it is composed of a metal oxide, for example. If the thickness is less than that range, the short circuit preventive film 6 can not prevent the short circuit or deterioration of insulation between the upper and lower electrodes due to environmental fluctuation, especially an increase of humidity, sufficiently and a piezoelectric film 3 may malfunction. If the thickness of the short circuit preventive film 6 exceeds that range, flexure deformation characteristics of the piezoelectric film 3 may be retarded to cause the malfunction thereof. Since there is no possibility of short circuit or deterioration of insulation between the upper and lower electrodes, a good and uniform ink ejection performance is ensured constantly for each nozzle and a good image can be formed.
