PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for waste treatment capable of efficiently using electric power generated from wastes and efficiently and economically recycling incineration ash. SOLUTION: This system comprises a refuse derived solid fuel (RDF)-fueled boiler 13 for burning RDF to generate steam at high temperature and high pressure, a power generating apparatus 14 for generating electric power by steam turbines by utilizing steam, an incineration ash melting furnace 15 for melting the incineration ash generated in the boiler 13 by the heat generated by combustion by an oxygen burner, and an oxygen-producing apparatus 16 for producing oxygen gas by utilizing air as the raw material. A part of the electric power generated by the power generating apparatus 14 is spent for operating the oxygen-producing apparatus 16 and the produced oxygen is used for the oxygen burner. |
