PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylene-based copolymer useful as a macromonomer for producing syndiotactic polystyrene graft copolymers excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance and improved in tenacity, elongation and rigidity, etc., and a material for obtaining a compatibilizer in compositions of various polystyrenes and rubber components. SOLUTION: This ethylene-based copolymer is a copolymer comprising ethylene (A), a 3-20Cα-olefin (B), a diene-based monomer having a styrene-based vinyl group or a diene-based monomer having a conjugated ene (C) and, if needed, an aromatic vinyl monomer (D) and a molar ratio of A/B is 20/80-97/3, C is 0.001-20 mole % and D is 0.01-30 mole %, and has vinyl groups derived from the diene-based monomer in a molecular chain having 0.1-80% rate of partial crosslinks K expressed by the following equation: K=(1-U/V)×100% (U is the amount of unreacted vinyl group units in the diene-based monomer in the polymer and V is the amount of the repeating unit derived from the diene-based monomer in the polymer). |
