1306774 Insulating boards JOHNS-MANVILLE CORP 21 April 1971 [7 May 1970] 10589/71 Heading D2B A heat insulating board comprising 40-80% by weight expanded volcanic glass particles (e.g. perlite or pumice), 10-25% by weight absorbent vegetable fibre e.g. cellulosic fibres, 5-30% by weight mineral fibre and 0-25% by weight binder and sizing agent in which the glass particles pass a 60 mesh US standard screen is formed from a 6% aqueous slurry on a Fourdrinier or cylinder paper making machine. The mineral fibre may be rock, glass or asbestos wool. The binder or sizing agent may be a bituminous or asphalt emulsion, sodium or potassium silicate, aluminium phosphate, pitch, poly (calcium acrylate), tapioca starch, a clay or a cement. |
