<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy blackness and dispersibility which are conventionally an antinomy by specifying an average particle diameter, a ratio of N2 SA/SEM specific surface area, a pH value and a cDBP. SOLUTION: A carbon black is prepared such that the average particle diameter is 14 nm or less, preferably 8-12 nm; the ratio of N2 SA/SEM specific surface area is 1.3 or more, preferably 2.8 nm or less; the pH value is 5 or more, preferably 6 or more; and the cDBP is 50 cc/100 g or more, preferably 60 cc/100 g or more. Preferably Dmod is 80 nm or less and/or the ratio of D1/2 /Dmod is 0.6 or less and more preferably 0.55 or less. Moreover, the ratio of D75 /Dmod is preferably 1.6 or less. This carbon black is extremely excellent in dispersibility in a variety of vehicles and highly black and gives suitable characteristics (non-aggregation, prevention of degradation, abrasion resistance) to paint compositions, resin compositions, rubber compositions and ink compositions which contain this carbon black.</p> |
