PURPOSE:To simply and efficiently remove dissolved oxygen in water until very low concn. is attained by bringing the water into contact with a chelate resin having aminocarboxylic acid groups supporting copper and/or aminoalkylenephosphonic acid groups supporting copper. CONSTITUTION:A copper compd. is adsorbed on a chelate resin having aminocarboxylic acid groups and/or aminoalkylenephosphonic acid groups as functional groups and reduction treatment is carried out to obtain a chelate resin having aminocarboxylic acid groups supporting copper and/or aminoalkylenephosphonic acid groups supporting copper. Water contg. dissolved oxygen is brought into contact with the chelate resin supporting copper preferably by passing through a column packed with the chelate resin. The contact temp. is preferably regulated to about 10-80 deg.C so as to enhance reactivity at about >=10 deg.C and to inhibit the deterioration of the quality of the chelate resin at about <=80 deg.C. |
