<p>The changing of rolls of a stretch levelling machine is facilitated by a hydraulically operated bearing at one end of each roll. The bearing consists of a tapered shaft mounted in a housing in which it can be moved in and out by means of a piston acting in a cylinder. When in position in the end of the roll, the bearing is locked by a pin. Movement is rapid and is regulated from the control panel of the machine.</p> |
