A body fat meter for accurately and stably measuring a human body impedance to determine the amount of body fat even when electrodes for hand is used. A stature measuring instrument is provided which includes a platform on which a subject stands, a measuring terminal to be brought into contact with the head vertex of the subject, a cursor holding the measuring terminal and vertically movable. Body impedance measuring electrodes are integrally fitted to the cursor, and are positioned almost at the shoulder level of the subject when the measuring terminal is in contact with the head vertex of the subject. When the subject grips the measuring electrodes, the angles between the body and arms of the subject are generally right angles.
