Furniture components e.g. the frame sidewalls of a drawer storage system, are held together by a metal fitting. The fitting consists essentially of a metal clamp housing (18) into which a wedge (11) is inserted, causing the housing to expand and effect the fixture. The wedge is operated by an adjacent hand-operated lever (13). The fixture generally dispenses with threaded components.
