A trim edge for an internal door has a rounded edge (12) which is covered by a protective plastic film (10). The plastic film extends over all the protruding outer edge (7) of the door and has a smooth finish which runs flush into the front covering of the door. For additional protection the plastic film can be extended over the stepped profile of the outer edges of the door and is thicker than the covering trim/veneer of the door.
