<p>A self-inflatable mattress (10) is formed from an open pore foam core (20) which has bonded thereto along the entire outer surface of the core dual melt films (22, 42) which are composed of a low melting point layer (S2) which contacts the foam core (20) and a high melting point layer (S1) which was disposed out of contact of the foam core. Heat and pressure are applied by a suitable means (26, 36, 38) to heat seal the dual films (22, 42) to the foam core (20). Provision is made to include a valve (16) in the self-inflatable mattress (10) which is in communication with the enclosed foam core (20).</p> |
