The invention relates to a method for cleaning a container, especially a boiler of a conventional power station. According to the invention, the container is degreased and scoured using an alkaline cleaning solution durin g a method step. A suitable cleaning solution contains, for example, an ammoni um EDTA salt, hydrazine and a surfactant.
