A security design for a door, or for a window, has metal profile strips (1,2) on the door and on the adjacent door frame. The edges of the profiles interlock when the door is closed and prevent insertion of a forcing blade eg. a jemmy. The strips extend over the height of the door. For added security pairs of profile strips are fitted to the open edge of the door as well as to the hinge edge.
