Reducing pollutant emissions from diesel engines

Process for reducing levels of soot, nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO) and unburned hydrocarbons (HC) in the exhaust gas from a diesel engine comprises emulsifying the diesel fuel with a liquid containing hydrogen peroxide or an organic peroxide before injecting the fuel into the combustion chamber of the engine.
