A method of manufacturing a secondary battery negative electrode capable of reducing a contact resistance between a sintered body including silicon as an active material and a current collector, comprising the steps of adding a binder and a solvent to a negative electrode material containing silicon to prepare slurry, applying the slurry to a base material comprising a conductive metal foil or mesh, removing the solvent to form a coating, and firing the coating in a non-oxidized atmosphere for integration with the base material and for sintering.
