<p>A magnetic encoder capable of withstanding adverse environments such as dust, oil and vibration and being simple in mounting and adjustment and produced at low cost, comprising a rotary body (1) having a coding unit (2) formed thereon with projections and recesses at regular intervals in a circumferential direction and a magnetic sensor (3) for detecting the projections and recesses on the coding unit (2) of the rotary body (1), wherein an A-phase and B-phase detection portion AB of the coding unit (2) is formed thereon with projections and recesses at intervals of one pitch while U-phase, V-phase and W-phase detection portions U, V, W have portions where projections and recesses are formed at intervals of two pitches and portions where they are formed at intervals of one pitch.</p> |
