The invention relates to a device for converting the energy of flowing fluids, especially a wind power plant. Said power plant has at least one longitudinally roll-shaped cross-flow rotor. The rotor axis is essentially perpendicular to the direction in which the fluid is flowing. Flow-guiding surfaces are located at least in the area facing towards the flow, said guiding surfaces being mounted divergently on the device in the opposite direction to that in which the fluid is flowing so that they can subject a predetermined area of the rotor against which the fluid is to flow to the action of the fluid.
