Production of isocyanate prepolymer, useful for the production of polyurethane

A process for the production of isocyanate group-containing prepolymers by reacting (a) organic isocyanates with (b) H-acid compounds, in which the reaction is carried out directly in the process stream of the isocyanate production plant. Independent claims are also included for:- (1) isocyanate prepolymers obtained by this process; and (2) a process for the production of polyurethanes by reacting these prepolymers (possibly in combination with other optionally modified isocyanates) with compounds containing at least 2 reactive hydrogen atoms in presence of catalysts, optionally blowing agents and optionally other additives etc.
