Utilities such as gas and water and sewage pipes pass through a house wall aperture which is fitted with a two-part protective seal, the first applied from the inner wall face and the second applied from the outer wall face. The two parts of the seal are joined together. The position of the second part (12) of the seal may be axially adjusted with respect to the first (12). The seal surrounds a protective pipe through which pass the individual esp. gas and water pipes.
