Vehicle headlamp with auto-leveling mechanism

The lamp has a reflector (12) with a vertically adjustable optical axis mounted in a housing (11). A leveling actuator (31) mounted at the back of the housing has an adjusting shaft (34) with a leading end coupled to the reflector so as to tilt the reflector by extending and contracting the shaft, with the actuator mounted of the housing so that the adjusting shaft is kept tilted in a vertical direction relative to the horizontal plane. The reflector is integrally formed as a single unit with first and second reflectors disposed vertically above one another, with the leveling actuator located to the rear of the lower reflector. The upper reflector protrudes backwards further than the lower reflector.
