Pressure applicator, applicator system and panel with narrow edge for use with applicator and edge strip application, and gluing method for bonding an adhesive coated strip onto a narrow edge

The pressure applicator is a sliding shoe (7) with a line contact area (12) over the entire length. Independent claims are made for:- (1) a system of pressure applicators, comprising a roller, a first sliding shoe (7) and a further sliding shoe which acts only on boundary areas between the narrow panel edge and the panel face; (2) a panel with curved boundary edges, preferably 1-5mm radius, onto which an edging strip is glued between the narrow edge and panel face and an edging strip /}3mm; (3) an edge strip gluing process in which the pressure shoe makes line contact (12) at an angle to the narrow edge and/or to the adjoining edge between the narrow edge and main face of panel. Preferred Features: One form of the sliding shoe has a pointed tip facing the edge strip (4). In a further design the first area pressing against the strip only applies pressure onto a longitudinal strip of the narrow edge while the following area broadens out in the transverse direction starting at the end of the first area. Several pressure applicators may be located one after the other and each is progressively adapted to the edge profile to gradually form an edge strip around it. The first pressure applicator is a rotating roller, the second a sliding shoe with a part circular pressure face and the third is a pressure shoe with a smaller radius.
