<p>The present invention provides an adjustable, leak-free sealing device (20) for sealing the die orifice (14) of a molten polymer die (10). The sealing device (20) includes a sealing bar (40) seated against and blocking a portion of the die orifice (14), a deckle holder (21) slideably connected to one side of the die (10) and extending under the die orifice (14), and a plurality of springs (45) seated on the deckle holder (21) and biasing the sealing bar (40) against a portion of the die orifice (14). The springs (45) have a combined spring force equal to or greater than the die orifice outlet pressure such that the sealing bar (40) provides a leak-free seal along a portion of the die orifice (14).</p> |
