<p>The invention relates to the iron used for domestic ironing purposes and is operated by displacing it manually on textile material to be ironed, and mainly characterized in that it incorporates in its interior lower portion a halogen lamp (9) located in an inclined housing (5), in the same way as the lamp (9), that is to saiy frontwards and downwards, the housing (5) being complemented by a front lens (6) separated with respect to a tubular and metal envelope (8) of the lamp (9) by means of a washer (7). The halogen lamp is connected in series with a resistance (14) which adapts the voltage of the network to the voltage of the lamp (9), with a diode (13) which limits the consumption of the resistance (14) and with an ON/OFF switch (16) for the lamp supply circuit (9), said switch being situated in the rear portion or heel (17) of the iron, the circuit being opened when the iron bears onto the heel (17) and being closed when the iron is in a normal operation position. The halogen lamp (9) projects light towards the area of the textile material on which the iron sole will immediately pass thereafter thereby improving the vision of the textile area on which the iron slides.</p> |
