The pressing pliers have a head (2) with a two-part tool, one part (7) movable wrt. the other (6) by a drive (15) and lying in a head plane (11), a positioning device (9) with a pivot bearing (10) with at least one holding point (20) for applying a workpiece that can be pivoted into an application position for the workpiece and into a working position relative to the workpiece in the head. The pivot axis of the pivot bearing can be mounted either in a plane parallel to the plane of the pliers head or directly in the plane of the pliers head.
