A process for producing microcapsules comprises forming microcapsules having wall films of an amine-aldehyde condensation polymer in an emulsion of a hydrophobic core substance in an acid aqueous solution containing an anionic water-soluble polymer which is a copolymer of acrylic acid, an acrylamidealkylsulfonic acid and an alkyl acrylate.
