The handling device has a frame (11) with drives (18,19,20), which are coupled via power transmission elements (22,23,24) to a body plate (15), a horizontal carriage (16), and a vertical carriage (17). The elements are esp. toothed belts or chains. Each drive has an angle measuring device to control and determine the position of the connected component. Component movement is limited by stops (48) positioned on the end of the frame. The belts extend parallel to the frame and pass over pulleys at the frame ends.
