The invention relates to a closing element for ducts (water pipe 10), comprising a movable blocking element (damper 12) which can be moved from an open position in which it frees the cross section of an enveloping element (11) around the water pipe (10) into a closing position in which it at least strongly reduces the cross section of said enveloping element (11). In its open position the blocking element (damper 12) forms part of the wall of the enveloping element (11) and can be pivoted in relation to said enveloping element (11).
