Method of producing thermal insulation for an oven muffle

The method involves enclosing the oven muffle (4) with a covering of several layers of radiation reflecting foil (1), pref. of aluminum, laid one on the other and at least one distance layer (5) laid between the foil layers to keep them apart at least in some regions. The distance layer decreases in vol., melts or decomposes at a critical temp. The covering is fixed wrt. the muffle. Each step of the process is performed at a temp. lower than the critical temp. of the distance layer. An Independent claim is also included for a thermal insulation covering for an oven muffle.
