The spaced guard rail posts (3,6) project with their bottom ends (4) joined to the scaffolding standards (2) below the topmost walkway (1) so the posts reach above the walkway to be connected up at this level by a holding rope (7). The rope passes through a tensioner (9) fitted to the railing post (3) and the posts are fitted at their bottom end (4) with two spaced couplings for joining to the standard stringers (5). The coupling are joined to the posts (3,6) by short bars, using a conventional scaffold clamp as top coupling and a support-forming bottom coupling to grip forcibly round the stringer (5). |
