The patch pocket is secured to the rear of a pair of jeans or trousers by a double row of stitching extending around the periphery of the pocket, and the rows of stitching along the side edges of the pocket are spaced to allow the insertion of a pen between them. Pref. the rows of stitching diverge towards the mouth of the pocket.
