Binding for snowboards

The binding has a movable sole holder (6) which on reaching a clamping position still has a distance from its end position on the clamping side which corresponds to a predetermined snow clamping height. The sole holder can be tensioned with predeterminable force by spring suspension (16) in the direction of its end position. The sole holder can be locked against return to its release position by a locking member which needs to be consciously released and which can be brought or falls into its locking position when the clamping position is reached. The locking position of the locking member can be checked through a visible control.
