A liquid crystal display is characterized by uniting a liquid crystal panel (2) and a back light unit (BU) by a frame (3) into a liquid crystal panel unit (1) and then installing the liquid crystal panel unit (1) in a cabinet (20). The frame (3) is divided into two portions of an inner wall (18, 19) by a supporting shelf (SH) which extends around the inner wall parallelly at a first predetermined distance (Hp) measured from one side edge of the inner wall. In these two portions of the inner wall, a liquid crystal panel containing frame (17) is formed for containing the liquid crystal panel (1), and a back light unit containing frame (10) is formed for containing the back light unit (BU). Thus, the liquid crystal panel unit (1) is constructed by containing the liquid crystal panel (2) and back light unit (BU) in those two containing frames (17, 10). <IMAGE> |
