<p>Above ground, cylindrical vessels of plastic walled construction are joined by horizontal feed pipes to a central distributor tank to which the treated sludge/water mixture is fed by pumping. Each of the vessels has a top effluent outlet and a bottom settling funnel joined by a gravity fall pipe to a central sludge trap at the base of the distributor tank below a conical floor from whose apex an air vent goes up to above the top of the distributor. All the pipework is of plastic. Plant is relatively cheap and compact.</p> |
