A support device (1) for the exhaust pipe (2) of vehicle, comprising a fastening bracket designed to be rigidly attached to a fixed part of said motor vehicle, a collar (4) clamped around the pipe (2) and a connecting assembly (5) interposed between the collar (4) and the bracket (3) and defining between them a coupling sliding in the direction of the axis (A) of the pipe (2); the assembly (5) is provided with a spring (25) adapted to exert an elastic load so as to effect friction clamping between them the collar (4) and the bracket (3) but allow relative sliding when differential thermal expansion occurs. <IMAGE>
