<p>A disposable diaper (1) of the shorts type including a liquid permeable topsheet (2), a liquid impermeable backsheet (3) and an absorber (4) interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet is described. Front and rear waist portions (5A, 5B) of the diaper are connected together at opposite sides thereof, respectively. In order to improve the handling of the diaper for discarding it is proposed that the diaper further includes a strip-shaped tape fastener (10) formed of an elastically expansive member, and adapted to fasten the diaper when the diaper is to be discarded. The tape fastener (10) being secured at one end thereof to an outer surface of the backsheet (3) or topsheet (2) and is directed in a longitudinal direction of the diaper. The tape fastener (10) is positioned at the back side of the diaper and the tape fastener (10) has such length that a fastening portion (12) of the tape fastener can be positioned over the opening end of the waist opening portion when the tape fastener is stretchably wrapped upon disposal of the diaper.</p> |
