<p>A satellite communications system combines geosynchronous orbit (GSO) and nongeosynchronous orbit (NGSO) satellites in an integrated satellite communications system to provide redundant, flexible communications links. In various implementations, the system includes transmission links between ground stations and satellites (10), among GSO satellites (12,14), among NGSO satellites and between GSO and NGSO satellites (12,14).
