<p>1317809 Monoazo dyes FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 3 Aug 1970 [2 Aug 1969] 37321/70 Heading C4P [Also in Division C3] The invention comprises the water-insoluble monoazo dyes of formula wherein X is a H or halogen atom or a CH 3 , CF 3 , NO 2 or alkoxy group, Y is a H or halogen atom or a COOH, COOCH 3 or carboxylic acid amide group and R is a H or halogen atom or a CH 3 or alkoxy group. The dyes are prepared by diazotizing an appropriate aminobenzoic acid and coupling with a 5-acetoacetylamino-benzimidazolone. The dyes may be used to colour paints, lacquers, inks, synthetic resins (e.g. polyvinyl chloride) in the mass (see Division C3) and paper and in pigment printing, yielding yellow shades.</p> |
