PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a high rate discharge characteristic and suppress reduction in life by the higher porousness of a shelf plate by adding a specified quantity of amorphous carbon powder to a powdery mix mainly composed of lead powder having a specified ratio, and adding a solution of a specified quantity of fluorine resin fiber dispersed in water thereto, and filling the kneaded non-sulfate paste to a lead alloy-made current collector. SOLUTION: Lead powder consists of a mixture of trilead tetrachloride and lead monoxide, and the mixing ratio of lead monoxide to trilead tetrachloride is set to 2.0-40% by weight. Then, amorphous carbon powder is added in 0.2%-3.0% to the lead powder weight of starting material. Since the carbon dispersed in an electrode plate is oxidized during forming charging and released as carbon dioxide, pores are formed by the removal of the carbon, and a porous electrode plate can be provided. Further, PTFE is added in 0.5-5.0% to the lead powder weight. The fluorine resin fiber is extended in network within the electrode plate to firmly connect active material particles to each other.
|
