PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automatically performing pre-emphasis in a short time on a wavelength division multiplex(WDM) optical communication network, to which plural terminal stations are connected. SOLUTION: Terminal stations 10 and 11 which are the terminating stations of a central office line 13 are provided with computers for controlling pre- emphasis. When pre-emphasizing an optical signal from the terminal station 10 to the terminal station 11, the computer at the terminal station 11 performs control. First, the terminal station 11 transmits the spectrum information of the received optical signal to terminal stations 12-1 to 12-n and acquires information. The terminal station 11 acquires the spectrum information of the optical signal received by itself as well. Data are arranged for each transmission source of the received optical signal, and the amount of pre-emphasis to be performed on the side of transmission is calculated. Based on this calculation result, pre- emphasis executing instructions are outputted to the respective terminal stations 10 to 12-n. |
